New Build Sutton Benger near Chippenham

This was a mixed use site in the centre of the village with unattractive buildings past their useful life. The site lies within the Conservation Area for the village so any replacement buildings would have to respect this in scale, detail and materials.

The approach was taken to remove all buildings and work up a scheme for 5 units. The 2 original road access points were retained a development of linked units in a T plan form was designed tailored to fit the site constraints.

The final built form has a similarity to the original built form now demolished with the new build feeling as though it had always been there. Careful selection of materials was paramount with subtle variations throughout in both detail and form.
